STEPPI partnered with Landmark Group across multiple consecutive years to power the digital engagement experience behind the annual Beat Diabetes Walk — transforming a large-scale charity event into a gamified wellness challenge driven by participation, activity tracking, and community impact.
The initiative encouraged participants to join the challenge, track activity in real time, and contribute toward a shared fundraising goal through movement. For every participant who completed 10,000 steps, 25 AED was unlocked toward the Beat Diabetes charity initiative, connecting physical activity directly to measurable social impact.
Through live leaderboards, wearable integrations, and real-time engagement technology, STEPPI helped create an interactive event experience that drove participation at scale while delivering valuable activity insights and fundraising visibility throughout the event.
The Challenge

The Solution
STEPPI delivered a fully gamified digital wellness experience designed specifically for the Beat Diabetes Walk, combining large-scale activity tracking, live engagement, and real-time event data visualization.
Participants joined the challenge through the STEPPI platform, connected wearable devices, tracked activity live during the event, and compared progress against other participants through dynamic leaderboards and gamified competition features.
To enhance the live event experience, STEPPI also developed bespoke leaderboard display URLs that streamed real-time event data onto large venue screens — creating visibility around participation, rankings, fundraising milestones, and collective impact throughout the walk.

The Beat Diabetes Walk successfully combined large-scale community participation with measurable charitable impact through gamified movement and real-time engagement technology.
More than 4,600 participants joined the challenge through STEPPI, collectively generating over 400 million steps throughout the initiative. The challenge also achieved more than 40,000 completed donations, contributing to a total fundraising amount of 1,016,105 AED for the Beat Diabetes charity initiative.
By connecting movement directly to fundraising outcomes, the program created a highly engaging participant experience while helping Landmark Group drive awareness, community involvement, and meaningful social impact through wellness.
